Description
Join us for an evening of comic dance-films by Mitchell Rose. Mitchell was originally a choreographer and his company toured internationally for 15 years. He then entered The American Film Institute as a Directing Fellow. After 10 years in Hollywood he revisited dance, synthesizing his two loves into a quirky mix that is manically funny, often poignant and always surprising.
He has become one of the leading figures in the dance-film world and The New York Times calls him "a rare and wonderful talent." His films have won 98 festival awards.
Mitchell was a professor of dance-filmmaking at Ohio State University until he moved to Asheville a year ago.
